Madness can be expected when the National College Athletics Association tournament starts next month. March is the start of March Madness and the Division one colleges in Kansas are in prime position to make the a run in the tournament.
High school relationships are something that never quite work out. Every so often you might find an old married couple that were high school sweethearts, but find such a couple is rare. In my opinion there is one specific type of relationship that holds the most importance as well as value, and that is the relationship with your parents.
Buffalo Bowling strike out the competition as their season comes to a close. Garden City High school’s bowling teams have stomped out the competition in past years.
Hartman Arena, in Park City Kan. was taken over by wrestlers the past Friday Feb. 23 and Saturday Feb. 24 for the Class 6A State Tournament where the best of the best high school wrestlers compete.
The Buffs played the Liberal Redskins last Tuesday at Liberal. The Buffs came home with a win, beating the Redskins 50-46. Carlos Acosta played well for the Buffs with 17 points off 6-of-8 field goals and 2-of-2 free throws, the Buffs finished hitting 17 of 29.
The annual art show always draws in a big crowd and this year was no exception. Everybody that went to parent teacher conferences over break, may have been wondering what was going on upstairs. Well it was the annual South West Kansas League Art show where students from all over Southwest Kansas could showcase their talents. Anything from finger painting to sculpting could have been submitted and judged by the two judges who attended. The show took place Feb. 23 through Feb. 24 and was put on by staff members and art teachers. Emily Baker, art teacher, was one of the many people helping to run the show.
Many different music students recently took their talents to state. Brandon Smith and Elena Lemke went to state piano, and were the only two students attending from GCHS.
Many young people today no longer know how to cook. This is a skill that is necessary to survive on your own without spending large amounts of money on takeout and fast food. I have recently been taught to make the greatest grilled ham and cheese sandwich ever. After eating this sandwich, I decided that I needed to share the steps to making it because it was the greatest sandwich I had ever eaten and is a simple dinner that everyone should know how to make.
The Buffalo cheerleaders made some noise Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at the cheer competition. The competition was hosted at Garden City High School.
